My Story About the Author
Greetings. My name is C.W. Wyatt. I'm the author of (FYI).
In addition to authoring this website and others; I'm a speaker, writer, educator, and communicator of the vision of the gospel through
lectures, books, article, and the internet. My other interests are at risk teens, and pure bred Akitas.
The goal of (FYI) is to provide carefully researched, highly accurate, reliably sourced, informative articles. Some articles are written by
me. Others are contributed by different website authors and most come from sources all over the web via RSS feeds.
(FYI) tries to provide as much quality information as possible on selected subjects. The purpose is to attract readers who may then be
interested in products and services related to the information found on the website. I make my living from commissions on sales of these products
and services.
Here's some information about me you may find interesting.
I've been an ordained Baptist Minister since 1989. The Bible and theology have been my consuming passion for most of my adult life. However,
in the last few years I've taken an extended leave from ministry. The reasons are complex and probably not of interest to anyone who is not in,
or who hasn't been in ministry.
Since my calling is presently not my vocation. I've gone back to my avocation to make a living. My avocation is multi level marketing (MLM).
MLM and Christian Ministry may seem like an odd pairing. But they're very similar. Both Christianity and MLM are spread by word of mouth (WOM).
Both depend on the authentic story of a nobody telling everybody about somebody, (or something).
I was first exposed to MLM in 1978. At the time, I was doing well in sales management, owned a house in the suburbs, and drove two late model
cars. In other words, I really wasn't looking for anything.
One evening I got a strange telephone call. Some guy said he was expanding his business in my area and was looking for people who were
interested in making money. The poor guy was very nervous, and obviously did not make his living in sales. I was extremely cynical and skeptical.
But I was also, very, very curious.
The guy shows up, at the appointed time, with another guy - his sponsor. They proceeded to tell me about Amway. I'd never heard of Amway
or network marketing. But I liked the concept. I really liked it! So I signed up.
To be honest, I didn't see millions of dollars. What I saw was an opportunity to make a few extra bucks per month to pay my mortgage off ahead
of time.
However, I ran into an immediate problem. The problem was the system; not the business but the system. Let me explain.
My sponsor and his sponsor and our families became good friends. I was told by them if I wanted to be successful (make a lot of money -
remember this was not my original goal) in this business I should do what successful people in the business had done. In other words, I should
duplicate the pattern that had been set by people who had succeeded in this business. It seemed logical.
Now, I've never been a follower. But despite my vague sense of counter intuition, I went along with the duplication program because I didn't
have any logic at the time that made more sense. Duplication meant buying tapes and going to meetings once a week and the occasional out of town
super function. I allowed my self to be seduced into the system.
Now bear in mind, I was having a lot of fun. My sponsor, his family; my sponsor's sponsor, his family; we were all young Christians with young
families. My wife and I enjoyed their fellowship tremendously! And the meetings, books and tapes did change my thinking, for life. And since I
was already making a good income, the outlay for books, tapes, and meetings was not a hardship; even though the business was not making
money.
Not making money wasn't the problem. The problem came when I realized that too many people may not succeed in the system. Although I
personally benefited and grew from information received in the books and tapes and meetings. I could also see the system, like all human
endeavors, was flawed.
I was inclined, then and now, to believe that the intent of the system was to make people better and to further their personal development.
Many have argued otherwise. God knows. I just knew that I could not, in good conscience, lead people into that system. So I got out of Amway and
MLM.
However, I continued to study the business; keeping abreast of various MLM companies; and federal regulations, and so forth. In essence, I
became a student of MLM because I was fascinated by it.
Many years passed, before I was approached again with a network marketing opportunity. Again I quickly joined, although at the time I was
deeply committed to ministry and would not take time from it to do a business.
However, since taking a sabbatical from full time ministry, I've returned to MLM because I believe it's a logical and efficient system of
distribution and compensation.
The internet is a tool that puts the network into network marketing. The (FYI) website exists to provide superb information, and to offer those
who are so inclined access to MLM products and services, and a business opportunity.
But the internet is vast and extremely impersonal. It can be a wasteland of fraud and outright evil.
My goal is to provide information that's so real, so profound, and so accurate that I earn your trust to the point you feel comfortable doing
business with me. It's that simple.
My Credo; i.e. what I believe!
If you want to order products and services, there are secure links to reputable companies where your information is safe and you will get what
you order.
Here's why it's extremely important that you get what you order!
All business succeeds with repeat business, repeat orders. It makes no sense in the long run to rip people off because they won't come back.
Also, part of the growth of any MLM business is through customers who like the product or service so much they decide to become sales reps of
that business, themselves.
So it's vitally important to me and to the companies represented on this site that you get what you order, and are more than satisfied with
your shopping experience. Some of you will become business partners with me and are worth far more than the short term profit from a
rip off. Are you following what I'm saying?
If you want to inquire about joining companies represented on this site you're invited to contact me. With the exception of Amway which
is a world wide business opportunity, all other companies mentioned on (FYI) are limited to North America.
Now, If you haven't done so already, take a minute and read what I've written about multi level marketing.
Then I'd like to talk with you about building a MLM business in the 21st century. And if MLM products and a business opportunity aren't what
you're looking for, perhaps some Words of Wisdom found on the Angel of the Church blog will help
you.
Live Long and Prosper!
